1779 Robert Carter with Sarah Dimes and Francis Walker, insures a timber and tiled house in the tenure of Whitaker, for £440, and a 3 brick, timber and tiled stables in Mill Lane, Guildford in the tenure of Mr. Lewis, innholder, for £60.

Robert married Anne Dimes, daughter of William Dimes and Elizabeth Brookes, on 15 May 1751 in Saint Nicholas, Guildford. (Anne Dimes was born in 1720 in Guildford and was christened on 10 May 1720 in Saint Mary, Guildford.)
